Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced celery and onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture with the bread cubes, dried cranberries, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually add the chicken broth to the mixture, stirring until the bread is moistened.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the stuffing.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the stuffing is heated through.
