Method
Prepare the Fritter Batter
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then mix in the milk. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Fry the Fritters
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium heat. You can test the oil temperature by dropping a small amount of batter in; it should sizzle.
- Using a scoop or spoon, carefully drop batter into the hot oil, frying 3-4 fritters at a time until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove fritters and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Make the Glaze
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth and pourable.
Glaze the Fritters
- Once the fritters are slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top of each fritter.
- Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or some chopped nuts to the fritter batter. These fritters are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
