Method
Prepare the Chicken
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Layer each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese, then fold the chicken over to enclose the filling.
- Season each chicken breast with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Bread the Chicken
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.
- Dredge each stuffed chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with bread crumbs.
Cook the Chicken
- Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil.
- Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Prepare the Sauce
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
- Bring to a simmer and allow to thicken slightly, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve each chicken cordon bleu with a drizzle of the creamy sauce on top.

Notes
For added flavor, you can include herbs like thyme or parsley in the bread crumbs. Serve with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
