Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces chicken breasts boneless, skinless
  • 4 slices ham thinly sliced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup bread crumbs for coating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method
 

Prepare the Chicken
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  3. Layer each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese, then fold the chicken over to enclose the filling.
  4. Season each chicken breast with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Bread the Chicken
  1. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.
  2. Dredge each stuffed chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with bread crumbs.
Cook the Chicken
  1. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil.
  2. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
  2. Bring to a simmer and allow to thicken slightly, stirring occasionally.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve
  1. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  2. Serve each chicken cordon bleu with a drizzle of the creamy sauce on top.

Notes
