Prepare the Brownie Base
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Make the Peanut Butter Topping
- In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the baked brownies once cooled.
Prepare the Chocolate Ganache
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Pour the chocolate ganache over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly.
Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate the brownies for at least 1 hour to allow the ganache to set.
- Cut into squares and serve cold or at room temperature.
