  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large ripe pears, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms.
  3. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. While dough chills, toss pear slices with cinnamon and nutmeg.
  5. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and transfer it to a tart pan.
  6. Layer pear slices evenly over the crust and sprinkle with slivered almonds.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
