  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, warm milk and mix with yeast; let froth for about 5 minutes. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Mix in softened butter and eggs with the yeast mixture until smooth.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until elastic. Place in a greased bowl and let rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  3. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll tightly and slice into equal pieces.
  4. Place slices cut-side up in a greased baking dish and let rise again until fluffy (about 30 minutes). Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow cooling slightly before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.
