Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 oz chocolate coating (melting chocolate or candy melts)
  • 12 cake pop sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and prepare a baking pan. Pour in the red velvet cake batter and bake according to package instructions (about 25-30 minutes) until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before crumbling it into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
  3. Gradually mix in the cream cheese frosting until well combined but not overly wet.
  4. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined tray. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt chocolate coating according to package instructions. Dip one end of each stick into melted chocolate before inserting it halfway into each ball.
  6. Fully dip each cake ball in chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, then place back on parchment paper to set.
