  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 tsp dried sage

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the thawed turkey under cold water and pat dry. Season generously with salt and pepper inside and out.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter with maple syrup, garlic powder, and sage until well combined.
  4. Using a basting brush, coat the outside of the turkey with the maple-butter mixture, applying some under the skin as well.
  5. Place the turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack in a large pan. Roast for about 13-15 minutes per pound, basting every hour with remaining glaze.
  6. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer; it should reach at least 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the thigh. Let rest for 20 minutes before carving.
