  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp Korean red pepper flakes (Gochugaru)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and Korean red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat (450°F/232°C).
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade (reserve some for brushing) and grill for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  5. Let the steak rest for five minutes before slicing thinly against the grain. Serve with chopped green onions and drizzle with reserved marinade.
