Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with oregano and basil; add an egg for extra creaminess if desired.
  3. Spread some marinara sauce at the bottom of the crockpot. Layer with uncooked lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and half of the ground beef.
  4. Repeat layers with more marinara, noodles, remaining ricotta, and beef until all ingredients are used.
  5. Top with shredded mozzarella and drizzle any remaining marinara sauce on top.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until noodles are tender.

Nutrition

Keywords: For added nutrition, include sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms between the layers. Substitute ground turkey for beef or use cottage cheese instead of ricotta for a lighter version. Allow the lasagna to rest for about 15 minutes before serving to help it firm up.
