Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs pork spare ribs
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the spare ribs dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this seasoning generously over the ribs.
  3. In a saucepan, combine bourbon, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly.
  4. Place seasoned ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet. Brush half of the glaze over them and cover with foil.
  5. Bake for 2 hours. After that, remove the foil, baste with remaining glaze, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C), and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
