  • 2 lbs turnips, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Add sliced turnips and sauté for another 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and cheeses until melted and combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sautéed turnips at the bottom of the baking dish. Pour half the cream mixture over them. Repeat with remaining turnips and cream.
  5. Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
