  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, sugar, and cinnamon stick. Stir until sugar dissolves; then remove from heat.
  2. Arrange the bread slices in a shallow dish and pour the warm milk mixture over them. Let soak for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs until frothy.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat until bubbling but not browned.
  5. Dip each soaked bread slice into the egg mixture and place it in the hot skillet. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve warm topped with honey or maple syrup.
